In the publications that follow, we discover the traces of the great Greek wrestler somewhere in Athens and Piraeus. He is already in his prime and the Greeks have almost deified him.

May 22, 1884. “Yesterday Coutalianos gave a performance at the Olympia Theater in Athens. The theater was suffocatingly full of people.”

As a postscript, a few words about the theaters of Pireaus: The first winter theater in Piraeus operated in 1883 in the mandra of Retsina when the “Theatron Piraeus” abandoned it. A theater was built on the site, which operated under the name “Winter Theater of Piraeus”. In these two mandras of Retsina and Vrachnos, the two theaters operated next to each other, often creating friction and minor incidents between them.

Coutalianos will give 5 performances at the Apollon Theater of Syros
The Apollon Theater is a place to showcase theatrical art in the cultural activity of the Municipality of Syros – Ermoupolis and the social life of the island. It was built in 1864 to a design by the Italian architect Pietro Szabo, who was inspired by four impressive Italian theaters, including La Scala in Milan, and has since adorned the heart of the capital of the Cyclades.

The director of the Piraeus municipality orchestra, conductor Georgovits, composed a march for Coutalianos, which would be printed and distributed in bookstores of the time. Orchestras would perform it at the athlete’s performances.

Mr. Kamarinos assures that Coutalianos should come to Piraeus, because a certain Emm. Chrysoulakis is challenging him to a fight!
When Coutalianos had once arrived in Chalkida, he found a local man of medium height and a wall painter who challenged him to a fight. It is said that this resident of Chalkida had previously faced and defeated a famous French wrestler who happened to be passing through that city.
