While the athlete is traveling on his sailboat from Istanbul to Athens, he makes a stop in the city of Volos. In Athens they are waiting for him as a national hero. In Volos he will make several appearances and the spotlight will be on him.

May 5, 1884. The journalist of the above article, among other things, writes “I don’t want to describe what I saw this athlete do, because some will think I’m telling them fairy tales…”

June 16, 1884. Coutalianos makes a show of strength behind the Stratonas (camp). He comfortably bends very thick irons on his arms, lifts enormous weights and holds huge cannons that fire at him. Next week he will give a show, the proceeds of which will be donated to the construction of the hospital in the city of Volos.
